The Center for Continuing Adult Learning, Inc. (CCAL)
Oneonta, New York
A non-profit membership organization of people in the Upper Catskill area who wish to continue to study and learn.
Courses: CCAL offers courses and workshops ranging from one-time presentations to courses meeting multiple weeks. Every six months we offer a new catalog of courses about science, history, literature, arts and crafts, health, recreation and personal improvement. Most courses meet on the Oneonta campuses of the State University of New York at Oneonta and Hartwick College.
Courses meet during daylight hours Monday through Friday. Course facilitators, many of them CCAL members themselves, are volunteers who share their knowledge and experience with us.
Membership: Our $120 annual membership fee covers all courses given during a calendar year. CCAL members also enjoy free access to many facilities at our host campuses. Membership in the Center for Continuing Adult Learning is open to all adult residents who have an interest in continuing their learning opportunities.
In order to promote fellowship among our members, CCAL sponsors periodic trips to museums, concerts and other cultural events outside the Oneonta area. CCAL members also join together for a number of social events throughout the year.
